Step 1: Enable Developer Mode in Chromebook

First of all, reboot your device and press Esc + Refresh + Power button simultaneously when the recovery screen appears. This will boot into Recovery Mode (similarly as Debian Linux system boots into Rescue Mode).
Next up, press Ctrl + D (for entering Developer Mode) and then Ctrl + D again (for enabling Dev Mode). Now your Chromebook will reboot automatically into Developer Mode.
