Blog introduction. An image has a great value and when the image is used with the right content you definitely enjoy a real difference. When talking about images on Shopify, we are talking about product photos because they have to present your product, brand and store in an attractive and concise way. So, to improve your Shopify store, this blog post will offer you some useful tips on how to create better product photos for your store.
Below you’d find examples of ides to write and present a fashion-related startup branding story. Students of UAL’s MA Fashion & Luxury course researched and wrote blog posts, from which I created more structured content for their online shop website. This post will help you shopify blog image size, shopify thumbnail size, optimize your Shopify store for high-quality product photos and ultimately, a higher conversion rate.
Photo size for shopify website
The Shopify blog image size is 1500 x 1500, and the thumbnail is 300 x 300. The Dawn theme has a number of image sizes that you can use for different purposes, such as product images and blog images. The product image size should be 1200 x 1200 pixels.
The image quality of your Shopify store’s product photos is very important. It can affect your conversion rates and sales volume. A high quality product photo will help customers make a better decision about the products they are looking at; while a poor quality photo will cause them to lose interest in what you have to offer.
Shopify Blog Image Size
Shopify’s blog is a great way to show off your products in a unique way. The blog has two main types of posts:
To create the post, click Create Post from the menu on the left side of your Dashboard. You’ll see a window with three tabs. Click Choose File at the top of the screen to upload an image from your computer.
The first type of post is called a Gallery Post and is used for showing off multiple products or collections. To make one, go to Blog → Galleries in your Shopify admin and click Create Gallery.
The second type is called an Image Post and is used to showcase just one product or collection. To create one, go to Blog → Images and click Create Image Post.
When you are creating your Shopify store, you need to understand the image size requirements for your store. The size of your product images plays an important role in the success of your store because it affects how many people will buy from your store.
Shopify thumbnail size
Shopify also allows you to upload thumbnails that are smaller than 1200 x 1600 pixels, which can be used as placeholders when your product is not available. These are only visible on mobile devices, where they appear as a small square icon in the top right-hand corner of the page.
Shopify’s standard thumbnail size is 180px by 180px. This is used for category, collection and product pages.
The Shopify product thumbnail size is 150px wide by 150px tall. This is the smallest size that can be uploaded to your store and still look crisp and clear on mobile devices and desktop computers alike!
You can also use a custom thumbnail size on your blog posts, landing pages and product details pages.
Shopify thumbnails are a little different from other platforms. Since Shopify is a multi-vendor ecommerce platform, some of their products will be created by third parties. This means there needs to be a way for those images to be consistent across the site.
Shopify has made it easy for you to upload your own images with their platform. In fact, they even have tools built in that allow you to create beautiful product pages without writing any code at all.
There are two types of Shopify product pages: Static and Dynamic. A Static page is a traditional HTML/CSS template that can be edited by hand and is ideal if you want complete control over every aspect of the page design. On the other hand, Dynamic pages are created using the Shopify Liquid templating language which makes them easier to update but limits customization options somewhat.
Shopify dawn theme image sizes
The Shopify dawn theme has several image sizes that are used throughout the theme. These include:
Anchor image sizes: 240px by 240px (used for featured products) and 125px by 125px (used for collections). These are both used in the header of your store.
Product detail images: 600px by 600px (used to show a single product). The original version of Shopify required this to be an even multiple of the product width, but now it can be any size as long as it’s a multiple of 600px.
Shopify product images
Shopify product images are 1200 x 1600 pixels. This is the default size for all Shopify stores. You can also upload a smaller image, for example if you have a smaller product and want to display it in a thumbnail-sized space, or if you want to use an image with a different aspect ratio.
The default Shopify product image size is 980px wide. This is the largest size that can be uploaded to your store. If you want to upload a larger image, you will have to resize it first. You can do this by uploading an image that is 1000px wide, then use the crop tool to make it 980px wide. This will save you time because you don’t have to crop it later on!
The following table shows the image sizes required for each type of product:

Shopify has a few rules that you should follow to ensure that your product pages look good. The first is the image size. You can use any image size, but it has to be at least 1200px by 1200px so that it can be zoomed in on mobile devices and still look sharp.
Shopify’s product images have to be at least 600px by 600px, but if you’re going to create them yourself then you have more freedom and can use whatever size you want as long as it works on both desktop and mobile.
The thumbnail is another important aspect of your product page. This photo shows up when someone searches for products in your category or subcategory on the search results page, along with the price and other information about the product.
If you want people to click through to your store then make sure that this image looks good!
