You can build your own custom gaming table using just a few tools and supplies. The trick is to find the right materials that are sturdy enough to support heavy pieces and large games yet inexpensive enough that you won’t mind if they get damaged during play.

Here’s what you’ll need:

A sturdy piece of plywood or particle board that measures at least four feet by six feet (you could also use five feet by eight feet). You can buy this at most home improvement stores or lumber yards, but if you have access to a sawmill, ask them if they have any off-cuts available.

Four 2x4s (or similar material) that are each at least three inches longer than the length of your plywood (so if your plywood is four feet long then each 2×4 should be at least seven feet long). These will serve as legs for your table frame.

Two sets of hinges — one set for each door that will be attached to each end of

You can build a table for your board games or card games. You just need to have some wood, a bit of time and a few tools.

Here are the steps to follow:

1. Measure the dimensions of your table. You can use a tape measure or draw it on paper and use it as a template for the wood you’re going to cut.

2. Cut the pieces of wood according to the measurements you took in step 1.

3. Sand the edges of each piece so they are smooth and round (this step is optional).

4. Use wood glue to put all the pieces together. Make sure they fit together tightly, without any gaps between them because this is what will hold your table together and make it strong enough not to break when players sit on it while playing their games!

5. Use clamps or weights to keep everything in place while the glue dries (about 24 hours).

Geek Chic Gone? Build Your Own Gaming Table! - GeekDad

I built this table for my wife and I to play games on. The top is made of plywood, the sides and back are constructed from 2×4’s and 2×6’s. The legs are made from 2×4’s, 2×6’s, and 1×4’s. The entire thing is painted with latex paint to protect it from the elements and make it easy to clean. This project was very simple and was accomplished in a weekend.

I love to play board games but I don’t have a dedicated place to play them. My friends and I usually play at my house because it’s the biggest and we have most of the games. But I’ve been wanting to make a dedicated table for us to use so that we can play whenever we want.

I found this awesome DIY table from The Handy Man’s Daughter, which is similar to what I will be doing. She used an old door for her tabletop but I found a cheap piece of plywood at Home Depot that was the perfect size for me (and cheaper than buying another door).

I’m going to be making some modifications to her design though because I want it to double as storage for all of our games/accessories and not just be a surface for playing on top of.
