How to build a strong wooden frame

Cut the lumber to the desired length and width. For this project, we used 2x4s for the base and sides of the box frame. We used a different size for the top frame as it was going to be attached to a wall and needed to be more secure.
Step 2: Attach Base Boards
Attach the base boards using 1 1/2″ nails or screws. Use a pencil to mark where each board will be attached, then predrill holes before driving in your fasteners. You’ll want to use exterior glue on all joints that are exposed to water or moisture, such as around any windows or doors. This will help prevent any leakage into your home or business during inclement weather conditions.
