If you want to make a painters easel, the first thing to do is to decide what kind of easel you want to build. This will depend on the materials that you have available and the kind of painting that you want to do.

Here are some ideas for different kinds of easels:

A cardboard easel is easy to make and can be used for any type of painting. You can make it as high or as low as you need, depending on how much space is available in your studio. The only limit is your imagination! If you want to paint outdoors, then this may be the best choice for you.

An art easel for adults can be made with wood or metal pipes. It should be tall enough so that you can stand comfortably while painting at it and it should also have enough room behind it so that you can lean back against it when resting between brush strokes.

So, you want to make an art easel for your child? You’re going to need some supplies. One of the easiest ways to get started is with a box and some duct tape.

What you need:

A box — preferably not too big or small.

Duct tape — any color!

Wax paper (optional)

Paint brushes (optional)

What you do:

First, take your box and turn it on its side. Then cut out one of the ends, so that it looks like a triangular flap. Cut smaller flaps on either side of this flap, just large enough for your child to put their hands through. These flaps should be large enough so that they don’t restrict movement while painting or drawing. Then cover the entire outside of the box with duct tape except for these flaps. You can also cover them in wax paper or fabric if you want, but it isn’t necessary as long as there are no sharp edges for children to cut themselves on!

1. Cut a piece of cardboard that is at least three inches taller than the painting you want to display. If you want the easel to stand on its own, cut two pieces of cardboard that are about 1 foot square. Glue them together with the wrong sides facing each other and let dry.

2. Fold the glued edge down so it meets the bottom of the piece and fold again so there is a flap on either side of your painting. Put glue in between all four layers along this edge and let dry completely before moving on to step three.

3. Use scissors or an X-Acto knife to cut out holes for your canvas or paper to go through at the top and bottom edges of your easel so they can be displayed without being held up by wire hangers or nails (see photo). This may require some trial and error depending on how large your canvas is or how much wood needs to be removed to make room for wires.

4. Drill holes where you want your hanging wires to go through (if desired) using a drill bit that matches the size of your wire hangers (see photo).3 Ways to Make an Easel - wikiHow

How to make an easel out of cardboard

You can easily make your own cardboard easel at home. All you need is some cardboard and a pair of scissors.

Step 1: Cut a piece of cardboard into a square shape. You can use old boxes or sheets of paper as your base material. The best size for the cardboard is 12 inches by 12 inches. You may need to make several cuts to get the right shape and size.

Step 2: Fold the upper corner down to form a 90-degree angle and then fold it back up again so that it creates a triangle shape with two folds on either side. This will be used as the base of your easel.

Step 3: Repeat step 2 until you have formed an octagonal shape with eight folds total in all directions (four folds on each side). The last fold should be at the top center point so that when folded down it forms another 90-degree angle, creating an upside down V shape when viewed from above (see picture below).

Step 4: Cut off any excess material from the top edge so that it is flush with the bottom edge of your cardboard easel frame (see picture below).

If you need to make an easel, but don’t want to pay for one, or don’t have time to make one, you can use cardboard and some other items around the house. This will work well for children and adults.

1.Find a large box or two and cut them down to size. Make sure that they are sturdy enough to hold up your canvas and not fall over. If you want, you can staple the cardboard together at the corners with duct tape so it will be more sturdy.

2.Place your canvas on top of the cardboard and trace around it with a pencil or pen so that you know where to cut out holes for each leg of your easel. These holes need to be big enough for your legs to fit through without being too bulky or heavy when set up on its own (if using longer legs).

3.Cut out all four holes using scissors or utility knife depending on how thick your cardboard is (if using thinner paperboard). If you’re using thicker corrugated cardboard, then use a utility knife instead so as not to tear through too easily when cutting through multiple layers of material at once:
