How to Add Doors to an Open Cabinet
If your open cabinet is too short to accommodate doors, you can add them yourself. The process is similar with a few differences.

I started by measuring the width of each cabinet and dividing by two to get the width of my door panels. Then I measured down from the top of each cabinet and marked where my top rail would go. The top rail is basically just a piece of 1×2 that will sit on top of the cabinet frame and hold everything together (see diagram below).
Next I cut out my door panel pieces using my table saw with a dado blade set at 1/4″. This allowed me to cut out three sides at once, which saved a lot of time!
