This is the story about what happened when we found out the surprising cost to build a house per square foot. Everybody knows that houses are expensive nowadays, and many people have lost their homes because of foreclosures and evictions. But few people realize just how much it costs to build a house. The actual price can vary greatly from place to place. In New York, for example, you should carefully consider if you want to live there or not if you are on a meager budget because the cost of living is very expensive. But some places have lower cost of living than others — this is why we started investigating into how much do houses cost per square foot in different cities across America.”

For example, if you want to build a 5 bedroom house with 4 full baths and 2 half baths, then it’s going to cost more than if you were only building a 2 bedroom ranch style home with 1 full bath and no half baths.
