Valheim is an open-world sandbox RPG set in a medieval world. Explore, build, craft and survive in a hostile world filled with beasts, monsters and other players.
In order to save your progress you must use the Save command. This is different from the Save & Exit command which only saves your progress but does not close the game. To use the Save command, press [ESC] followed by S. Your progress will then be saved so that if you quit or crash out of the game, you can continue from where you left off next time you start it up again.

To save Valheim Dedicated Server, you need a server running on Windows or MacOS X. Follow these steps:
Step 1: Download and install SteamCMD on your computer. You can find more details in our SteamCMD installation guide.
Step 2: Open Terminal (or Command Prompt), type ‘cd /home/steam’ and press Enter, then type ‘./steamcmd.sh’ and press Enter again. Wait until the login process is finished and then type ‘login anonymous’ and press Enter once again, then enter your username and password when prompted (both should be blank).
Steps to run a dedicated server for Valheim
1. Download and install SteamCMD on your computer.
2. In the AppData folder of your user profile (usually C:\Users\[YOUR NAME]\AppData), create a new folder called “SteamCMD”.
3. Copy the “steamcmd” folder from the downloaded zip file into this directory.
4. Open a command prompt, and change to the directory where you copied SteamCMD (“cd “).
5. Open a web browser on your computer and go to http://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/client/installer/steamcmd_linux_ubuntu1204_amd64.tar.gz<br>6.” Extract this file by typing this at the command prompt:<br>tar -xvzf steamcmd_linux_ubuntu1204_amd64.tar.<br>7.<br>8.<br>9.<br>10 Type this at the command prompt: chmod +x steamcmd.<br>11 Type this at the command prompt: ./steamcmd.<br>12 You should now have access to all.
