The Shopify e-commerce platform has continued to gain popularity among online retailers. Godaddy is a leading hosting company, with both shared and dedicated hosting options. This review will look at whether it’s possible to deploy a Shopify storefront using a Godaddy domain name.
Shopify With Godaddy Domain
Shopify is a great ecommerce platform, but it doesn’t actually host your site. You’ll need to buy a domain name, get hosting and set up a web server.
Shopify has partnered with GoDaddy to offer Shopify hosting at a discounted rate. This is not the same as Shopify’s own hosting service (which is called Shopify Plus). But it does make it easier for you to set up your store with Shopify — you can do it all in one place.
Here’s how to use your GoDaddy domain with Shopify:
Sign up for GoDaddy Hosting with one of our special coupons and promo codes
Log into your GoDaddy account and click on “Manage My Domains.” Select the domain you want to add to Shopify from the list of domains, then click on “Manage DNS.”
In the DNS Manager section, select “Add MX Record” from the dropdown menu next to “Type” and enter “@shopifymail.com” as the hostname value. Then click “Save Changes.”
