Have you ever considered selling on Shopify with your own custom domain? If you’re like me, you might have thought those two things wouldn’t work together. But after conducting a month’s worth of research, I decided to move both my side hustle and my ecommerce store onto Shopify — all because I discovered how to sell with a custom domain.
Shopify With Custom Domain
The Shopify platform is a great way to get started selling online. It offers many features, including easy-to-use templates, an excellent mobile app, and free shipping on all orders within Canada and the US.
Shopify’s basic plan allows you to use your own domain name for your store. This means you can customize your website’s URL, which is great for SEO purposes and gives you more control over your brand.
The downside of using a custom domain is that it requires extra work on your part. You will need to purchase a domain name (which can be expensive), and then set up DNS records with your hosting provider. However, if you have any experience with running websites or managing domains, this should be fairly straightforward.
Can I Have My Own Domain With Shopify?
Yes! You can register a custom domain name for your Shopify store without having to pay extra fees or set up separate hosting accounts with another company.
You can use Shopify with your own domain. If you already have a domain name and you want to use it with Shopify, you can do so by following these steps:
1. Buy a domain from a domain registrar like GoDaddy or Namecheap.
2. Contact us at support@shopify.com for further instructions on how to point your domain to your store.
3. Get your SSL certificate from Let’s Encrypt (or another provider) so that people can visit your store using HTTPS instead of HTTP.
