The Employee Database is a simple example database that contains information about employees. The data model has four tables: Employees, Departments, Jobs, and Locations.
Each record in the Employees table represents an individual employee. Each record includes the person’s name and address, as well as other information about the employee’s status and salary level.
Each record in the Departments table represents an individual department within a company. Each record includes information about the department’s name and manager, as well as other information about the department’s location within the company.
Each record in the Jobs table represents an individual job within a department. Each record includes information about the job title and salary level of a particular job, along with other information about that job position within a specific department.
Each record in the Locations table represents an individual location within a company where employees work. Each record includes information about where people work on a daily basis, including their email addresses so they can be contacted by anyone who needs to reach them at work or home.

The following is a sample database for SQL Server that you can use for learning purposes. This database is used in many of my training classes and is also available on GitHub. The sample database includes:
A simple employee table with fields: FirstName, LastName, EmailAddress, PhoneNumber, AddressLine1, AddressLine2, CityStateZipCode. The sample data includes 50 employees.
A simple manager table with fields: ManagerID (primary key), ManagerFirstName, ManagerLastName and ManagerEmailAddress. The sample data includes 50 managers.

This is a simple employee database for SQL Server.
There are three tables: Employee, Department and Job.
The Employee table contains the following fields:
EmployeeID : Unique identifier for each employee
EmployeeName : Name of the employee
DepartmentID : Department to which the employee belongs
JobTitleID : Job title (optional)
ManagerID : ID of the manager of this employee
The following is a list of sample databases for SQL Server, MySQL and Oracle. These databases are provided by Microsoft and Oracle, but some of them have been modified to have additional tables or data in them.

Microsoft has a large number of sample databases available on GitHub. These databases are not intended to be used as production systems, but they can be useful when learning how to use SQL Server or other tools such as SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio) or SSDT (SQL Server Data Tools). AdventureWorks Sample Database: This database contains sales and marketing data for Adventure Works Cycles, a fictional company that sells high-end bicycles. It includes examples of many different types of data modeling scenarios such as transactional information, warehouse management, inventory management, accounting and sales orders. The AdventureWorks database is one of the most widely used sample databases in the industry because it was designed with an eye toward real-world business requirements rather than just being a toy example. The AdventureWorks database can be used for evaluating performance of queries against large amounts of data or for testing out new features before they are released into production environments.

Samples for SQL Server 2008:
AdventureWorks 2008 Sample Databases – AdventureWorks is a sample database that demonstrates common tasks performed by many business intelligence professionals. The AdventureWorks sample database is made up of three parts: Sales, HumanResources and ProductInformation. Each part contains multiple tables and views that illustrate real-world examples of working with SQL Server 2005 or SQL Server 2008.
Customer Sample Database – The Customer sample database contains tables that use many different types of data relationships. It also includes scripts that demonstrate how to perform common tasks using T-SQL statements such as creating a table or an index, modifying data in a table, adding data to a table, deleting data from a table, and joining multiple tables together into one result set. This sample database is ideal for learning how to use the Transact-SQL statement builder in Microsoft Visual Studio® 2005 and later versions of Visual Studio.
