How to build a indoor fort

Building a fort is great for kids, but it can be so much more with a little imagination. As we get older and no longer have unlimited time to build our own play structures (forts, clubs, tree houses etc…) using our imagination has seemed to get a little stale. This doesn’t have to be the case.

Building a fort is a fun way to pass time when you’re bored. If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably spent hours building forts with blankets and chairs, and your imagination. Thinking about the possibility of building the perfect indoor fort got me thinking — how hard would it be to build an actual indoor fort in real life? So I did some research about building an ideal environment that replicates the feeling of being inside of a cozy and warm comfy blanket fort.

Step 1: Find materials. You’ll need rope or string, scissors, and something to cut the rope like a blade or scissors.
Step 2: Cut your rope into smaller pieces. You don’t have to cut them evenly. Just make sure they’re all about the same size.
Step 3: Tie your rope together in a knot so you can create a circle and attach it to something sturdy like a chair leg or table leg. If you’re using string instead of rope, tie two ends together with an overhand knot and then slide the loop over the chair leg or table leg so that it doesn’t slip off.
Step 4: Take two pieces of string and tie them together in an overhand knot so there’s an opening between them that’s large enough for your head and shoulders to fit through comfortably but small enough so that no one else can fit through it easily (like when they’re crossed up against each other). Then put this ‘door’ between two chairs opposite each other so that when you sit down inside the door will open up like a curtain revealing your secret hideout!

Step 1: Clear the floor
The first step is to clear the floor and make sure it is clean and dry. If there are any items that you don’t want damaged, it is best to move them out of the way before you start building.
Step 2: Lay down the sheets of paper
Next, lay down several sheets of paper one on top of another and tape them together so that they form one big sheet. The number of sheets depends on how big you want your fort to be and how much time you have available. The more sheets that you use, the stronger your fort will be! You can also use cardboard if you don’t have enough paper available. Just make sure that all sides are taped together securely so that they don’t fall apart when someone climbs on top of them!
Step 3: Add additional layers if needed

If your base layer is not thick enough or doesn’t fit where you want it to go then add more layers until it does fit properly into place. For example, if
-First, you need to find a spot. I recommend a room that has no windows, so that you don’t have to worry about them being opened by someone else. If you can’t find one of these rooms, just make sure that no one is going to come in and mess with your fort.
-Next, gather up some supplies! I recommend getting some blankets or sheets from your house and some pillows from the couch or bed (if they’re not too big). You will also need something to cut the fabric with and something to staple it with (scissors are fine for this). You will also need some tape for taping down the edges of the fabric so that it doesn’t move around when you sleep in it. You should try to get as much as possible without having anyone ask what you are doing or taking it away from you. Don’t worry if they don’t want you using their stuff, they probably won’t notice if they aren’t using it anyways!
-Now go into the room where you want your fort and cover all of the walls in blankets or sheets! Try not to leave any gaps between them, but if there are some small gaps just tape them down so they don’t move around
