This project is quick and easy, with great results!
Step 1: Measure and cut 4 pieces of 2×4 lumber to length, then attach them together with 2″ deck screws. Use 1/2″ spacers between the boards so they don’t touch. The length of your board is up to you – just make sure it’s long enough to span between the posts on your deck or patio.
Step 2: Attach one end of the 2x4s to a deck post or post bracket using 3″ deck screws or bolts, making sure that it’s level from side-to-side and from front-to-back.
Step 3: Attach the other end of the frame to your other post or bracket in the same way as above (see image 3). Once both ends are secured, you should be able to stand back and take a look at your new wall (see image 4).

Finally, it allows you more flexibility when arranging your furniture and other items around the room because there are no fixed positions for everything.
Another great thing about building multiple sections instead of just one big one is that each section can be designed differently from its neighbors if desired. For example: two sections could be made from two different types of wood or two different heights; one could have a window and another might not; etc…

1) Build the frame of your pallet wall. You can use 2×2s or larger lumber for the frame. Make sure that your frame is sturdy enough to support the weight of the pallets you will be using.
2) Place the pallets on top of each other in an alternating pattern with their edges facing up.
3) Secure each pallet to its neighbor using nails, screws or other fasteners. If you are using nails, make sure not to hammer them too hard as this could cause them to pop through the other side of the wood and possibly injure someone.
4) Cover up each nail hole with wood filler or spackling compound before painting or staining your wall (if desired).
