Farmhouse Table Plans
This is a very simple plan to build an 8 foot long farmhouse table. I built mine out of reclaimed barn wood that I picked up at a local lumberyard for $1/board foot. The plan also works for any size table you want, just adjust the length of the legs accordingly.
This table is made from solid pine boards and it took me about 12 hours to build from start to finish including painting it. It cost under $200 to build and it is a very sturdy piece of furniture!
The first step in building your own farmhouse table is to get the materials together. You need:
8 – 2x4x8″ pine boards (for legs)
8 – 1x6x8 pine boards (for top)
1 – 1x8x12″ pine board (for breadboard)**(I used reclaimed barnwood and had these already so this isn’t included in my total cost.)

This DIY farmhouse table is a simple design that can be built from inexpensive materials. It is made from pine boards, so it will not require any fancy joinery techniques. The legs are joined together using butt joints, no miters or splines required!
The top of this table is built using tenons at the corners, so there are no visible screws or fasteners on the top surface. You could also use dowels instead of tenons if you prefer, but I like how clean the look of tenons gives to this project.
This table could easily be made larger or smaller by changing the length of each leg and the width of your lumber stock. Larger tables will require more lumber than smaller tables, but they are still fairly inexpensive to build compared to store bought tables (which can cost as much as $1,000).
