Step 1 – Cut the wood. Use a circular saw or table saw to cut all the pieces to length. The two sides must be exactly the same length, but can be different lengths than the top and bottom. The width of all pieces should be 7 inches. The best way to cut boards is with a circular saw or table saw, but if you don’t have access to either, you can use an electric drill with a masonry bit (1/2 inch works well) and a clamp (or clamps). Drill holes into each end of each piece at least 3 inches deep (this will help prevent splitting as you drive in screws). Then drive in screws
