In this post, I’ll be discussing the cost of Galaxy’s Edge, the challenges with building a new theme park, and some comparisons to other large attractions.

It’s hard to say exactly how much Smugglers Run cost because Disney has not released any official numbers. However, we can use some rough estimates based on recent projects at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort and extrapolate from there. Based on these estimates, we believe that Smugglers Run cost somewhere between $500 million and $600 million.

The entire expansion project began in February of 2019 and is expected to be completed by early 2021 (or possibly earlier). As such, it is safe to assume that most of the construction took place over the past year or so (with a few months left).
