25 years ago, when Mike and I started Chocovision in a small one story house, we did not imagine that we would create the premier online destination for chocolate lovers. What motivated us more than anything was the desire to provide people with information about chocolate. Chocolate is a complex subject with many components and nuances. We relished learning everything we could about this wonderful product.
How can you start a chocolate business? And what makes it different from other businesses such as burger joints? Are you unaware of the risks and challenges involved in starting a new business for a sector with many established players? Are you looking for a strategic approach to start your own business within the chocolate industry?
Business plan for chocolate industry
Introduction:
Chocolate is a product of the cacao fruit, which grows in tropical climates. Cacao trees produce beans that are harvested, fermented and dried. The beans are then roasted and ground into a paste called cocoa liquor. This is the basis for most chocolate products. Chocolate has been around for thousands of years and has been enjoyed by people worldwide.
The purpose of this plan is to obtain funding to open a chocolate factory where we will be manufacturing and selling our own brand of chocolate products in our local community. We will also be manufacturing other types of food products such as snacks and drinks which will be sold in conjunction with our chocolate products.
Our company will be named “The Chocolate Factory” and we will share our address with the local community center so that we can use their facilities to manufacture our products as well as offer job opportunities for those who live in our community who have little or no money to start their own businesses.
Cacao is a genus of flowering trees in the family Malvaceae. The number of species varies between 15 and 58. The more important species commercially cultivated are Hevea brasiliensis, Theobroma cacao, Gossypium raimondii, Gossypium arboreum, and Gossypium hirsutum. The last three species are sometimes classified as part of the genus (Cotton); they are commonly called “cotton” or “silk” trees.
The fruit of the cacao tree is called a cocoa pod; it is about long, ovoid or oblong, ripening yellow to orange-red, and weighing about . It contains 20 to 60 seeds that are generally called beans. The seeds are the main ingredient of chocolate, although when roasted and ground they are referred to as cocoa nibs.[1]
Depending on the variety and process of preparation used, organic cocoa beans may be light brown (unfermented), reddish-brown after fermentation with yeasts (semidry) or black with red speckles (fully fermented).
Chocolate is one of the most popular food items in the world. It can be consumed as a snack, or given as gifts and presents, and it has been around for hundreds of years.

There are many different types of chocolate bars available on the market today, including dark, milk, white and even sugar free varieties. Chocolate can also be used in other foods such as cakes, cookies and pastries.

Ever since the Sunkist candy bar was introduced in the 1920s, companies have been trying to find new ways to make chocolate. In the past few decades, there has been a lot of innovation in the chocolate industry. Some examples are Hershey’s Kisses and M&Ms Peanut Butter Chocolate Candies. These were two huge innovations because they were made with peanuts instead of almonds or walnuts like most other candies.
In recent years, there has been a lot of competition between Hershey’s and Nestle. Both companies make many different types of chocolate such as Hershey’s Kisses and Nesquik Chocolate Milk Powder. This competition has made it so that people have more choices on what type they want to buy.
There are many different kinds of chocolate products that people use every day: dark chocolate, milk chocolate, white chocolate, etc… Many people enjoy eating this sweet treat because it tastes good and is fun for children to eat as well as adults!

Chocolate is a food derived from cocoa beans. It is made in the form of a liquid, paste, or in a block, or used as a flavoring ingredient in other foods.
The word “chocolate” derives from the Classical Nahuatl word xocolatl, pronounced as [šokolátl] (in Nahuatl: čokolātl), which means “bitter water”. The word “chocolate” was introduced to Europeans by the Spaniards. They associated it with their word for the cacao plant, caca. The use of chocolate in Europe was first documented in 1544, when Hernán Cortés wrote about his experiences with what he called “cacao” during his stay in Mexico. In English, the word “chocolate” was recorded in the late 17th century. The Spanish introduced chocolate to Europe; its spread across Europe led to its popularity.[1]
Chocolate has been prepared as a drink for most of its history. For example, one vessel found at an Olmec archaeological site on the Gulf Coast of Veracruz, Mexico dates chocolate’s preparation by pre-Olmec peoples as early as 1750 BC.[2] On November 14, 2011

A bar of chocolate (or “block”) is composed of a mixture of different kinds of chocolate liquor, cocoa butter and other ingredients such as lecithin and vanilla extract. The liquor comes from grinding cocoa beans after removing their shells. Cocoa butter is extracted from the beans by pressing them under hydraulic pressure or by forcing steam through them while they are still hot after roasting; this must be done carefully so as not to destroy their flavoring properties.
