The Mayo Clinic has a very well-documented strategic plan that includes its healthscape. In fact, I would argue that the Mayo Clinic is the leader in healthscapes. The Mayo Clinic recently opened a new facility in Rochester, Minnesota and it looks like something out of Star Wars. It’s beautiful and it’s functional.
The Cleveland Clinic has also done some amazing things with their healthscape including creating an entire village around their hospital. The Cleveland Clinic has built a village called University Circle around its main campus which includes apartments, restaurants and shops all designed as part of an integrated experience for patients and visitors.
In my opinion, these institutions are leading the way with their strategic plans to transform healthcare into an experience rather than just a service offered by doctors or hospitals.
