Valheim Dedicated Server Version
This is a tutorial on how to set up a Valheim dedicated server version. In this guide, we will be using the Steam version of Valheim, but it is possible to use other versions as well. When you try to launch your game for the first time, you may receive an error message that says “incompatible version”. This usually happens when someone has launched the game before and changed some settings or files that are no longer compatible with your version of Valheim. In order to resolve this issue, we must restore some of these files so that they match your version of Valheim.
The first thing we need to do is download a program called “Unofficial Patch” by clicking here: http://www.patches-scrolls.de/valheim-unofficial-patch/. This program will allow us to restore all the necessary files that correspond with our version of Valheim so that they can work together again properly once more. Once downloaded, extract it anywhere on your computer (it doesn’t matter where) and then run it by double clicking on it .
Valheim dedicated server incompatible version
The latest version of Valheim is v0.9.8.
When you start the game, you will receive an error message saying that the server version is incompatible with your client version. This means that your client is not updated to the latest version of the game and it cannot connect to the server.
In order to solve this issue, please follow these steps:
1) Download and install the latest version of Valheim from https://www.valheimgame.com/downloads/
2) Run the game once and close it when asked if you want to save changes (if you don’t choose yes, then your old save files will be overwritten by new ones).
