The bed is made of 3/4″ plywood panels reinforced with 2×4’s. The legs are made of 2×4’s as well. The headboard, footboard and side rails were made using 1×12 pine boards (cut into two-inch pieces) and attached to the panels using pocket screws. We stained everything with Minwax Natural Cherry wood stain and finished it with Minwax Satin Polyurethane.

 

The drawers were purchased from Ikea. They come unfinished so we stained them with Minwax English Chestnut stain and finished them with Minwax Satin Polyurethane as well.
